CALÓ News reporter Michelle Zacarias has been selected as a finalist for the political commentary category of the Southern California Journalism Awards.
Her commentary article, “USC should work with anti-gentrification coalitions,” is a finalist for this year’s awards to be announced at an awards dinner gala at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday, June 23.
The awards recognize the best reporting in the region out of more than 2,300 entries submitted this year.
Some of the other finalists include reporters from KTLA, Variety, Los Angeles Times, LAist and more. The Southern California Journalism Awards is organized by the Los Angeles Press Club.
