Another organization providing aid for those affected by the wildfires is Hope the Mission, one of the nation’s largest non-profit rescue missions, which has worked throughout the weekend to stabilize their interim and family shelters located closest to current fire evacuation zones. While ensuring those currently living at a Hope facility continue to receive the services and care they need, Hope is ramping up support for those in L.A. County who have lost their belongings from the fires.

On Monday, January 13, through Wednesday, January 15, Hope the Mission will host an emergency donation drive at multiple locations across LA County. The donations collected at Hope’s facilities will directly support evacuees and those affected by the fires.

Donations requested include:

  • Clothing (new and used) for adults and children

  • Shoes

  • Baby supplies

  • Cleaning products

  • Small household appliances

The donated items will be distributed to those in need through free shopping coupons redeemable at Hope’s thrift stores, through other partner agencies working with fire victims, and through Hope’s shelters & housing services so that no donation goes to waste.
