Last week’s La Tierra de Música Mexicana brought to life a three-day celebration of the rich heritage and future of música Mexicana in Los Angeles. The event brought together over 700 artists and industry leaders.

In early August, Spotify launched three exclusive content capsules and Spotify singles, each paying tribute to a unique facet of música Mexicana: Electro Corridos, Norteño Sax and Sad Sierreño.

"La Tierra de Música Mexicana represents the culmination of our commitment to celebrating and elevating the genre that has grown by over 47% within the last year,” said Samantha Aanerud, U.S. Latin Label Partnerships Lead at Spotify. “With over 83 million Spotify users having played at least one música Mexicana song, the genre’s impact is undeniable, and we’re excited to help drive its growth forward.”

On the first day of the event, Spotify opened the doors to its L.A. office for panels, masterclasses, and showcases, offering valuable insights into the genre's evolution for artists, fans and industry professionals.

On the second day, the event closed out with the Mujeres en Música Mexicana panel followed by the showcase concert headlined by Janney Marín, better known as Chiquis, who is a Latin Grammy-winning artist, singer, songwriter, businesswoman, author and television personality. The second evening ended with a closing showcase, featuring emerging artists Adriana Rios, Adrian L Santos, Octavio Cuadras, Oscar Ortiz and Clave Especial

La Tierra de Música Mexicana” closed out Friday night at The Avalon, where top fans who waited for hours to see their favorite artists were treated to live performances by some of música Mexico's most prominent and rising stars, including Gabito Ballesteros, DannyLux, Oscar Maydon, Los Primos del Este, Alex Favela, Estevie, and Ivonne Galaz.

Danny Lux kicked off his set by performing his single “Cielo Eterno” honoring Sad Sierreños.  He is well known for his hit song with Eslabón Armado called "Jugaste y Sufrí" which was his introduction  to the music industry. Also on the bill was Los Primos del Este, a band based in North Carolina that performed their Norteño Sax Spotify single, ‘Beso’.
