Dodger Stadium has released their newest dish in honor of Japanese Heritage Month , Chef Merito’s Ponzu asada fries.
Chef Merito and Dodger Stadium held the event at Far Bar in Little Tokyo. A bar and restaurant in Los Angeles known for their support of the Los Angeles Dodgers, where they have their signature specialty cocktail “Shotime,” made of Haku Vodka, Yuzu Liqueur, Midori, Pineapple and rimmed with Chef Merito’s Sal, Chile y Limon.
The dish is made of crispy fries, steak marinated in Serrano Cilantro Ponzu, dressed with Chili Garlic Miso Aioli and Nopal Pico de Gallo.
At the tasting, it was served with an Esquite Salad and crispy fried chicken wings.
The carne asada was cooked to perfection, with the aioli dressing adding a creamy base pairing perfectly with the marinated steak and the nopal pico de gallo complimented the dish adding freshness and a kick from the jalapeños to your palette.
The event featured giveaways and dodgers mascot to take photos with. The creator of the dish, Lauren Corugedo, also talked about the dish and her excitement for this being introduced at the stadium.
This dish will be at the Chavez Ravine until Sunday, July 7 so make sure to try it before it’s gone!
