Cassidy Reyna (she/they) is a Los Angeles native and California State University, Long Beach Journalism graduate. While they were at CSULB, they were Managing Editor for Arts & Design for DÍG en Español and the President for CSULB's chapter of NAHJ 2022-2023. Cassidy is passionate about her community, supporting nonprofits, mental health awareness, women's rights, LGBTQIA+ rights, music and pop culture. Aside from her work with CALÓ News, she is a content writer/social media manager for a local afterschool program. In their freetime you can find Cassidy at a concert or at home spending time with her guinea pig Chewie. Olvera Street, also known as Placita Olvera, held a celebration for Día de los Muertos, spanning nine days from October 25th to November 2nd. The merchants of Olvera Street have held this celebration for over 30 years. It is believed that during the celebration of Día de los Muertos, the veil between the living and dead thins, allowing family members who have passed on to visit their loved ones.
