Northgate González Market has a grand opening in Lynwood on Friday.
Once open, the store will provide residents and the local community with a full-service supermarket, including a large meat department, bakery, tortilleria, fresh produce, prepared foods, and a taqueria, in addition to a section of domestic and imported Latin American grocery goods to provide a Mexican homeland experience.
The site had to undergo soil cleanup and remediation due to contamination caused by a previous site tenant.
Once open, Northgate González Market plans to hire approximately 200 workers at this location, most full-time. Most of those positions will be filled by residents of the City of Lynwood. The company has grown to 44 stores in Orange, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Riverside counties.
The new Northgate González Market is at 11630 Long Beach Blvd. Lynwood, 90262.
