Looking for an event to support the greater Los Angeles community? Look no further: LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes is inviting the community to a special free event this Saturday, February 8, for a day of art making, wellness activities, live music, access to essential relief resources and delicious food.

Attendees will have the opportunity to take part in a meaningful art activity where community members can share their experiences through both art and letter writing, reflecting on the recent wildfires and the current political climate impacting their lives.

According to a statement from LA Plaza, they will “use this opportunity to send a message of resilience, hope and support to everyone across Los Angeles.”

Program:

10 am: Doors open; artmaking activities continue until 4 p.m. Food and refreshments to be served while supplies last.

10:15 am: Yoga movements by People’s Yoga.

11 am: Vinyl Spinning by DJ Abelardo de la Peña Jr.

12 pm: “Ancient Mexico” interactive performance by Martin Espino.

1 pm: Aztec Sound Bath (Room 406), Vinyl Spinning by DJ Emely Rauda, Storytime with Lil’ Libros Author Cynthia Gonzalez reading: “The Life of/La Vida de Llort” (Garden) and Book Signing (Garden).

2 pm: Vinyl Spinning by DJ George Cardenas, storytime with Lil’Libros Author Cindy.

3 pm: Vinyl Spinning by DJ Denise Garcia.

4 pm: Event ends
